"Wagner's War" CD Review in Shedivine.com

The Great Kat's "Wagner's War" CD Review

"WAGNER'S WAR" CD 2002 (11:10 minutes; eight cd)
Instruments played by the group:
guitars, violins, bass, drums, a symphony orchestra (some real instruments and the rest via midi), opera singers and female vocals and screams.
The music: I still think that the most significative aspect of The Great Kat's music is not speed, which is obviously demented, but there are a lot of virtuoso musicians playing at the light speed, what makes her different? (because she is different...), in my opinion it is not the technic but the music; the character of the music and of Kat, it is that devastation in the music, that conjunction of virtuosity and apocalypsis, that sonic war in this case (being Kat's music a kind of chemical weapon that destroys our nervous system), that form to build and pull down all that megalomaniac and wild combination of classical music (this time she massacrates and violates compositions of Wagner, Liszt and Pablo Sarasate), speed (metal, classical and anything that can be called "speed") and own creations in that orchestrated uproar of hypersonic guitars and violins, toxicant extremism and all those screams, howls and the sonorous sadism. What is most lethal?, that she is able to do something like this or that we love her domination?
Label: self-released.
