Great Kat - Beethoven's Guitar Shred
Band: Great Kat
Title: Beethoven's Guitar Shred
Year Released: 2009
Reviewer: Terry Bunch
Rating: 8
This DVD from The Great Kat takes on the familiar
journey of speed guitar and tongue-in-cheek humor. There are 7
videos and 3 bonus features as well as an animated clip. The Great
Kat shreds these classical pieces: "Flight of the Bumblebee", "Paganini's
Caprice 24", Beethoven's "5th Symphony" and Bach's "Brandenburg
Concerto 3". There are also three originals, "Blood", "Torture
Tactics" and "Islamofascists".
The videos are typical of the style expected and yet this time, The
Great Kat shows a level of musical growth and the videos are better
directed than her previous efforts.
The only drawback to this DVD is that it is too short, clocking in
at a mere 15 minutes or so. Once the DVD is over, you are left
wanting more, but alas, the mistress of speed is done with you and
you will get no more.
