Great Kat was born in England and began playing the violin at 6 years. She graduated with honors from Juilliard. She decided to learn to play guitar and transform Classical music into Metal. Whiplash! / You're well known for making versions of famous classical composers, but some do not take the music that you write very seriously. What do you think? Do you prefer to write music that works by composers like Vivaldi, Beethoven, Rossini, etc.?

Great Kat / "Cyberspeed" metal/Classical music is brilliant, powerful and unique mixture of complex metal music and violent, all brought into the 21st century with incredible super-sonic speed! The CD "Bloody Vivaldi" CD is the first to combine a chamber orchestra (violins, violas, cellos and double basses) version of "The Four Seasons" by Vivaldi! We first recorded the drums in MIDI, then the live drums, bass. I recorded my live 4 guitars. then the violin solos played by Great Kat -first violins, second violins, viola- and MIDI cello and bass. All this insanity and conducted by the Great Kat! Produced by Great Kat "Bloody Vivaldi" is a remarkable album, 4 songs, including:

Great Kat / Heavy Metal Favourite artist: The Great Kat! After I graduated from Juilliard School as a violin soloist and realize that classical music is dead, I decided to take classical music into the 21st century with modern popular music. After listening to all forms of popular music, I saw a video of Judas Priest and realized that I had to "metallize" classical music, or mix it with metal. I then got an electric guitar and began systematically transcribing all my violin solos for the guitar, then inventing a new 21-century music: Metal / Classical Music "Cyberspeed"!
Whiplash! / On the CD "Bloody Vivaldi", you use a chamber orchestra for the first time. How did this idea? Will you use it again?
Great Kat / Great Kat is mixing classic elements (orchestral, acoustic instruments) with metal (electric guitar, MIDI instruments) and combining classical music with metal and totally brilliant and violent. This is how music will be in the next century: brilliant, powerful, classic condensed genius!
Whiplash! / What are your future plans? Any idea for a new album? What are the next classics that you turn into heavy metal music?
Whiplash! / Do you use things like "New Beethoven of the 21st century: The Great Kat" or "Devil Incarnate: The Great Kat" to get people to talk about you. Do you think some people may think that you're just a crazy guitarist-marketing, that can not really make music and image and uses these descriptions to gain some recognition?
Great Kat / Who cares what the untrained, bigots, idiots, losers, amateurs think ?!?!? Paganini was called the devil! Mozart laughed! Stravinsky had a mutiny against him! Do not waste my time, pathetic inferiors!
