Can you confirm you had a classical music education ?
The Great Kat is a Juilliard Graduate Violin Virtuoso, who was a Full Scholarship Student at the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City. I was the Concertmaster of the Juilliard Pre-College Orchestra, winner of the “Robert Hufstader Scholarship” in Theory at Juilliard, winner of the exclusive “Artists International Competition” and violin soloist at Carnegie Recital Hall.

After graduating from Juilliard and realizing that Classical Music was DEAD, I decided to listen to all forms of popular music to find the style that closest matched Classical, so I could update this genius music. I FOUND METAL and THE GREAT KAT’S SHRED/CLASSICAL MUSIC WAS BORN!!!!!!!!

The Great Kat is NOW the “Top 10 Fastest Shredders Of All Time” (Guitar One Magazine), “50 Fastest Guitarists Of All Time” (Guitar World Magazine), “The 100 Wildest Guitar Heroes” (Classic Rock Magazine) and “8 Of The World’s Fastest Shredders” (Gibson Lifestyle)!!!

Where does this shred passion comes from ?
THE GREAT KAT”S GUITAR SHRED PASSION comes from WAKING THE MASSES UP WITH POWERFUL CLASSICAL MUSIC MIXED WITH SHRED METAL GUITAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What are your references in terms of metal bands ?
Judas Priest. Ozzy.

You’re used to playing aggressively whatever happens. Haven’t you been tempted doing something radically at the opposite ?
NOTHING IN THE WORLD IS MORE RADICAL THAN A TECHNICALLY TRAINED FEMALE GUITAR AND VIOLIN VIRTUOSO SHREDDING VICIOUSLY ON GUITAR AND VIOLIN AND TAKING ON THIS MALE-DOMINATED GUITAR WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In one of your music videos, you clearly react to the Sept 11 events. What do you think of the new President of the USA ?
USA has to TACKLE the 2 MOST IMPORTANT ISSUES: The War on Terror and The Economy!!!
