When did you start playing guitar and performing as The Great KAT?
The Great Kat is the “TOP 10 FASTEST SHREDDERS OF ALL TIME” (Guitar One
Magazine)!! After graduating from the Juilliard School and performing my Solo Violin debut
at Carnegie Recital Hall as Winner of the Artists International Competition on Violin, I
realized that CLASSICAL MUSIC WAS DEAD!!!!!!!!!! I searched all forms of Popular music and
discovered HEAVY METAL: the MOST POWERFUL, VICIOUS form of POPULAR music and MIXED BEST
with CLASSICAL MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!
I incorporated note-for-note violin solos & Classical motives in metal and invented
“SHRED/CLASSICAL”-The UNIQUE and COMPLEX form of music combining guitar
shredding, violin shredding with actual authentic CLASSICAL MUSIC SCORES!!!!!!!!
Lets talk about the new Extreme Guitar Shred dvd, I think it is awesome, what are your
thoughts on the creation of it and will you be releasing more dvds in the future?
 - The Great Kat’s NEW “Extreme Guitar Shred” DVD dazzles audiences with
finger-blistering guitar and violin virtuosity and mixes Shred Metal, Classical Music and
WILD Operatic Theatrics. This INCREDIBLE DVD took TONS of work to create NOT only the
music, video, photos, and concept, but also the authoring and graphics!!!! IT’S
INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How's it feel to have developed an original genre of music titled
"Shred/Classical", and do you think others will start to do this same style?
THE REASON THE GREAT KAT DEVELOPED the ORIGINAL GENRE OF MUSIC called
“SHRED/CLASSICAL,” is to ALLOW BOTH CLASSICAL AND METAL MUSIC to CONTINUE into
the NEW MILLENIUM and to BRING this POWERFUL COMBINATION TO THE MASSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've read that you were on several tv shows including Entertainment Tonight, The Joan
Rivers Show, The Maury Povich Show, Live with Regis and Kathie Lee, what was it like to be
on national tv? Any stories you'd like to share? What was Maury like?
