- DR. TIMOTHY LEARY, Harvard Professor,
Psychologist, Mind-Altering Guru, Controversial Counterculture Icon,
Futurist, who challenged the status quo and declared the famous
counterculture phrase "Turn on, tune in, drop out!"

- TIMOTHY LEARY
was born
on October 22, 1920 in Springfield, MA. Leary became a
cadet at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1940, where
he received several demerits for rule infractions, but was
honorably discharged.

- Leary attended several
schools and received a Ph.D. in Psychology in 1950 from The
University of California at Berkeley. His thesis focused on
interpersonal psychology. Leary was married to his wife
Marianne, had children and became an associate professor at UC
Berkeley. In 1955, Leary's wife committed suicide, leaving Leary
to raise his children. He become a director of the Kaiser
Foundation and lecturer at Harvard University in 1959. Leary
also began working with the Harvard Center for Research in
Personality and the Psilocybin Project. Leary began
experimenting with psilocybin (psychedelic mushrooms) in his
studies. Leary went to Mexico and took psilocybin there,
which possibly changed his life. At Harvard, it was discovered
that Leary failed to deliver lectures and the Harvard students
were also using Leary's LSD. Leary was fired from Harvard in
1963.

- Dr. Leary became an
advocate for LSD use and established the International
Foundation for Internal Freedom. In 1967, Leary spoke at the
Human Be-In in San Francisco, where he declared
"Turn on, tune in, drop out."
Leary began associating with
counterculture personalities and even tried to get elected as
governor in California in 1970. After getting arrested for drug
possession, Leary fled prison and ran to Switzerland, but was
captured in Afghanistan. After returning to the U.S. and being
imprisoned again, Governor Jerry Brown finally released Leary in
1976.

- Leary started becoming an
entertainment icon in the 1980's, joining G. Gordon Liddy on a
lecture tour in 1982. Leary began making TV, film, and music
appearances. In 1984, Leary was in New York City and met
The Great
Kat (Kat Thomas) and sparks flew. Leary and Kat collaborated
and created the never before released "RIGHT
BRAIN LOVER" SONG!
Timothy Leary wrote the wild psychedelic lyrics and Kat composed
the music reminiscent of Billy Idol and The Ramones. Timothy
Leary and Kat recorded "Right Brain Lover", starring Kat's
electric violin virtuosity and rock singing and Timothy Leary
rapping the lyrics with his inimitable voice. (Stay tuned to

Leary became excited with
computer technology and virtual reality and began designing

In 1995, Timothy Leary was diagnosed
with prostate cancer. Leary wanted to document his dying and allegedly
wanted his body frozen after death with the use of Cryonics.
Timothy Leary died on May 31, 1996 in Beverly Hills, CA.
Timothy Leary, who wrote numerous books, research papers and
articles, declared "Think for yourself. Question authority" and is
considered a modern day
Socrates.
